When this Trust needed chiller hire for hospital buildings they turned to ACR for a fast effective solution.
Required urgently, chiller hire for hospital was a service that this customer needed in a hurry.
Following problems the trust had been having with their roof mounted fixed chiller, a replacement solution was required quickly to maintain operation of this important facility.
Importantly, the chilled water supplies a chilled beam system, which in turn air conditions the building, keeping it within specification.
ACR recommended a direct like for like replacement 220kw water chiller. It was proposed, that the chiller be mounted at ground level for fast, economical installation- a crane lift to the roof would be expensive and time consuming. It was also unclear if a suitable load tested position could be authorised quickly.
Mounting the chiller at ground level presented its own problems in terms of the pipe-work installation, but it was decided that this was the preferred option.
3″ rubber pipe-work system was installed to connect the temporary chiller to the clients access points in the roof plant-room. Using a cherry picker the hose was run down the side of the building and attached using feature grills for support- padding was used to prevent damage around the fixings.
The temporary pipe-work was connected to isolated 100mm flanges and adapted down to accommodate the 3″ hosing with Camloc connectors.
To prevent air entering the clients system, the temporary chilled water pipe-work was manually filled. Gradual opening of the clients valves allowed the pressure-set to adjust as required before fully opening to complete the circuit.
This chiller hire for a hospital system was installed, tested and commissioned within 8 hours of attending site. Furthermore, no problems have been encountered during its extended rental.
